Acceptable Use Policy
Last Updated: August 11, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the JobSiteRecon website, mobile application, and all related services (collectively, the "Platform") operated by JobSiteRecon LLC ("JobSiteRecon," "we," "us," or "our"). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice or refund.
1. Permitted Use
The Platform is designed exclusively for licensed contractors, tradespeople, and construction professionals to share genuine, experience-based ratings of jobsites and trade businesses. You may use the Platform only for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
2. Rating Standards
The Platform supports two types of ratings: the JobSite Complexity Score, submitted for a jobsite address based on either a completed job or a quote/estimate visit, and the Contractor Operational Rating, submitted at the business address of a contractor or trade you worked with, worked under, or worked alongside. Both are numeric ratings only. All ratings and content submitted to the Platform — regardless of type — must adhere to the following standards:
- Truthfulness: All ratings must be truthful, accurate, and based solely on your genuine, firsthand experience — whether that is work you personally performed at a jobsite, a quote or estimate visit you personally attended, or a working relationship with a contractor, sub-contractor, or trade you worked with, worked under, or worked alongside on a job.
- First-Hand Experience: You may only submit a rating reflecting your own direct experience. For a JobSite Complexity Score, that means a location where you personally performed work or personally attended to provide a quote or estimate. For a Contractor Operational Rating, that means a contractor or trade business you personally worked with, worked under, or worked alongside on a job. Ratings based on hearsay, rumors, or second-hand accounts are strictly prohibited.
- Business Address Requirement (Contractor Operational Ratings): A Contractor Operational Rating must be posted to the registered business address of the contractor or trade being rated. The rated business must have a registered business address; posting a Contractor Operational Rating to a residential or personal address is prohibited.
- No Fabrication: You may not submit fabricated, exaggerated, or misleading ratings. This includes rating jobsites you never visited, work you never performed, quote visits you never attended, or contractors you never worked with.
- No Quid Pro Quo: You may not offer or accept payment, services, or other consideration in exchange for submitting, modifying, or removing a rating.
- No Competitor Sabotage: You may not submit a rating intended to harm a competitor's reputation or business rather than to provide genuine feedback about a jobsite or working relationship.
- No Tags or Written Content: The Platform does not support tags, categories, written comments, or any other descriptive content alongside a rating. Ratings consist solely of a numeric score.
3. Prohibited Content
The following content standards apply to all content you submit anywhere on the Platform, including profile fields, direct messages, comments on Field Guide (blog) articles, testimonials, and survey responses. You may not post, upload, transmit, or otherwise make available any content that:
- Is defamatory, libelous, or knowingly false

- Contains malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware
- Constitutes spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional material

When posting or responding to listings on The Yard marketplace, you agree to:
- List only items you actually own and have the legal right to sell or give away
- Describe items honestly and accurately, including any defects, and use only your own photographs of the actual item
- List only construction, trade, and jobsite-related items — never weapons, ammunition, explosives, drugs or drug paraphernalia, alcohol, tobacco or vaping products, stolen goods, counterfeit items, recalled or hazardous products, animals, or any item whose sale is restricted or prohibited by law
- Complete transactions in good faith — do not post fake listings, bait-and-switch, or solicit payment through unusual or irreversible methods (wire transfers, gift cards, etc.)
- Meet safely: we recommend meeting in public places, inspecting items before paying, and trusting your instincts
- Not use listings or listing-related messages to harass other users, circumvent the rating system, or advertise unrelated services
